My vision for Arts Captain

I would help organise cultural events with enthusiasm, encourage students from all year levels to become involved and make sure everyone feels welcome, regardless of their background or experience. I would enjoy working with teachers and other student leaders to create events that celebrate the diversity of our school community.

My experience in performing arts has also taught me the importance of teamwork, commitment and resilience. Rehearsals require people to listen to one another, solve problems together and support each other when things don't go to plan. These are skills I would use as Arts Captain by being approachable, communicating clearly and helping others work together towards a common goal.

Above all, I would aim to lead with kindness, respect and enthusiasm. I believe the best leaders inspire others through their actions, encourage everyone to contribute and help create a school culture where every student feels valued and proud to be involved

As Arts Captain, I would look to work closely with the other student leaders to plan events that are engaging, inclusive and enjoyable for students of all ages. I would communicate openly, share ideas respectfully and be willing to support others in their roles whenever needed. I understand that successful leadership is about collaboration rather than working independently.

Being involved in performing arts has taught me that every successful performance relies on teamwork. Whether rehearsing for a production or preparing for a concert, everyone has an important role to play. I would bring this same mindset to the leadership team by encouraging others, celebrating different ideas and helping to solve problems together. I would also be happy to step forward when leadership is needed and equally happy to support others behind the scenes.

Together, I believe we could create a positive school culture where students feel connected, included and proud of their college. By working cooperatively, modelling Trinity Lutheran College's values of community, service, respect and personal growth, we can inspire other students to become involved and make a positive difference to our school.

My School's Core Value and Ideas I have for promoting The Arts:-

Community:-

Live Music Mondays (Eg:- the first Monday of the Month)

A rota of different musicians or groups / bands / instrument types play at lunchtime in the Courtyard of the SLP.

Service:-

I am an Arts advocate. I would like to keep the arts subjects alive at Trinity. My idea would be to create posters showing how The Arts lead into different careers / pathways. I would also encourage follow ups after experience subjects are done – have the students complete a survey or have a voice about what they liked / didn’t like so that experience subjects can be the best they can be to encourage uptake.

Community:-

Hold Open Galleries for students in Visual Arts / Media Arts – these could be held at lunchtimes or alternatively we could hold Gallery afternoons / Evenings with catering and music (by the students). Hold it in the Cultural precinct. This would also raise the profile of The Arts at Trinity.

Personal Growth / Community:-

Take the College Choir and / or Musique Cantabile to things like Eisteddfod. Our choirs are sensational and need to be heard by the community!

Choir Evening (at the Robert Hoff Hall?) – invite other school choirs to an event afternoon / evening at Trinity where we hear each other and perhaps have a communal singalong at the end, by combining our voices!
